Agents of SHIELD: “One Door Closes” Review

Note: Full spoilers for the episode follow.

A very strong episode, “One Door Closes” surprisingly seemed to upend the dynamic of this show again, while also including some cool flashbacks that filled in the origins of The Other SHIELD.

Man, the producers sure took those “the pacing is too slow” criticisms from Season 1 to heart, no? I assumed we’d get at least a few more episodes of Bobbi and Mack plotting with Gonzalez before any kind of major confrontation occurred – but nope, everything went down here! Coulson figured out Mack was up to something, Bobbi got Fury’s toolbox and than Gonzalez and his SHIELD agents all showed up and took the entire place over!

Back to the Future Hoverboard Replica Looks The Part

It’s 2015, which means the hoverboards predicted in Back to the Future Part II are supposed to be a reality. A new replica of what is possibly the most-wanted piece of fictional futurism certainly nails to look of the device, but it fails to hover in any sort of fashion.

Available at HalloweenCostumes.com, the $50 replica looks pretty close to the one Marty McFly commandeered in the 1989 film, right down to the discs on the bottom that presumably powered the board.

The site offers a full selection of 2015 fashion as imagined in 1989, so if you’re so inclined you can go full-McFly. The Hoverboard comes in a cool, branded box, as well.

Pandora CFO talks support for CarPlay, relationship with Apple

Pandora revealed on Tuesday it has plans to launch its online music radio on Apple’s CarPlay, the in-car infotainment software set to be found in several vehicles on the market.

While Pandora is a little late to the party, as CarPlay launched in 2014, it’s a seemingly perfect app to fit the car software. Many users already utilize the Pandora app on their iPhone to play music through their car’s speakers.

Microsoft Announces Surface 3 Tablet

Microsoft revealed the newest addition to its tablet family, and it brings familiar features to a smaller package.

The Surface 3 –– not to be confused with the larger Surface Pro 3 –– runs full Windows and desktop applications, and can run apps from the Windows Store, Steam and GOG.

At 8.7mm thick, and weighing 1.37 lbs., the Surface 3 is the thinnest and lightest device in the Surface lineup. There’s also a mobile-broadband version, the Surface 3 (4G LTE).

The Surface 3 features the same multi-touch and pen-controlled screen as the Pro 3, as well as front and rear-facing cameras that both capture 1080p video. It has a battery life of 10 hours, according to Microsoft, and unlike the Pro 3, uses a Micro USB charger, which makes it compatible with most phone chargers. While the included 13W charger replenishes power faster, phone chargers are now a viable alternative.

Star Wars: Kanan – The Last Padawan #1 Review

Note – Kanan: The Last Padawan will be released on Wednesday, April 1. This is a spoiler-free advance review.

Kanan: The Last Padawan is the fourth Star Wars comic Marvel has launched in as many months. This series is the first, however, not to be set during the period between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. Instead, it ties into the Star Wars Rebels animated series and explores the past of aspiring Jedi-turned-smuggler and rabble-rouser Kanan Jarrus. With Rebels executive producer Greg Weisman at the helm, it should come as no surprise that this series is every bit the worthy addition to the franchise Marvel’s other projects are.

The Witcher 3 is 200+ Hours Long

CD Projekt RED’s next Witcher game is going to be a time sink.

Senior Game Designer Damien Monnier revealed on Twitter that the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will take players over 200 hours to finish if they “do everything”.

The confirmation is unsurprising. Back in January, CD Projekt RED told us that it wanted to make an “open-world where there there were no boundaries. Where our artists could do whatever they wanted.” It’s also in step with the rumour that The Witcher 3 has a 50 GB install on PS4.
