X-Men Producer Addresses Comic-Con Leak

Several high-profile trailers were shown at San Diego Comic-Con last week, and while the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer was immediately put online, ones for Suicide Squad, Deadpool, and X-Men: Apocalypse were not, but that didn’t stop attendees with cell phone cameras from posting blurry recordings of the material online. This caused Warner Bros. to release the Suicide Squad trailer — they’d rather fans see a nice HD version than the crummy bootleg — but Fox has yet to release their two trailers. During a set visit for 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse, IGN and several other outlets asked Hutch Parker, former president of production for 20th Century Fox and current producer for the X-Men movies, how he felt about the leaked footage and if even possibly the studio secretly wants the footage to leak so it would go viral.
