Mr. Right Review

Most people, when they go on dates, learn the name of the person with whom they are on the date. It is, generally speaking, seen as an essential part of the process. What then would you do if you were on a date (or a second date) and when you asked the name of the person opposite you, they refuse to answer?

This is the question Martha (Anna Kendrick) is faced with at one point in the new movie, Mr. Right. The amazing thing about the Paco Cabezas-directed, Max Landis-written, movie is that when Sam Rockwell’s deranged hitman refuses to answer (for what it’s worth, his name is Francis) Martha only has momentary hesitation about continuing to date him, and yet the movie manages to keep chugging along. It is just as believable a moment as anything else in the movie, and even if you mark that down as “not very,” you simply won’t care – within the world of this New Orleans-set film it’s a more or less forgivable omission and the movie quickly moves past it.

The Division’s Game Breaking Bug Will Be Fixed

The Division’s game breaking bug, which locks players out of their accounts after crafting a High-End backpack, will be fixed in the game’s upcoming 1.1 update.

Speaking on The Division’s forums, community manager Natchai Stappers announced the fix would come on April 12 alongside the newest update.

“We will be deploying a fix in update 1.1 on April 12th that should resolve instances of the infinite loading/backpack issue,” Stappers said. “Due to this fix requiring a client patch, we cannot deploy it at an earlier date. We thank you for your patience.”

Until the fix is issued, Ubisoft is advising players to avoid the bug by not attaching mods to items not being used.

Hear a Beatle’s Voicemail to Destiny Composer

When you’re as accomplished a composer as Marty O’Donnell, getting an international rock icon like Paul McCartney to sign on to help in composing the soundtrack to your game is just a product of luck and solid connections.

In an interview with IGN Unfiltered, O’Donnell explained the process of how the ex-Beatle became involved. When speaking with an associate one day, O’Donnell was asked who he would ideally want to work with as Bungie prepared to start work on the Destiny score. McCartney’s name was floated, which he remembers seeming impossible.

Midnight Special Review

There is something different about Jeff Nichols’ Midnight Special. The Mud writer/director is back with a new, hybrid tale of what one set of parents will go through to save their son.

While the stakes involved in saving any child are tremendous, the boy in question, Alton (Jaeden Lieberher), is different. Alton, whom the audience first sees with a pair of swim goggles on despite being under a sheet in a hotel room with the shades pulled and cardboard over the windows just in case, sometimes shoots white light out of his eyes and starts speaking perfectly in time with a radio station that isn’t turned on. He even somehow intercepts military satellite transmissions, which, naturally, makes the government rather distressed. Alton has spent the past several years being cared for by a cult who have based their entire religion around him.
